How can this festival best be described? It is a vibrant, energetic, and unforgettable event that will stay in your memory for a long time. Ottawa Ski shares the history of the festival and the exciting entertainment programs from past years that delighted visitors.
What Is This Festival?
This is a large-scale evening event infused with the spirit of Latin America. The annual festival takes place in Ottawa and Toronto. What can visitors expect? Every year, guests enjoy spectacular dance performances, dance to DJ sets and live performances by well-known artists, and participate in free dance lessons, creating the atmosphere of a massive open-air party.
Festival organizers ensure an outdoor bar and authentic Latin American street food every year. Traditionally, the Toronto edition of the festival takes place at the end of August, while the Ottawa edition is held at the beginning of September.

When Was the Festival First Established?
The festival’s history dates back to 2012, when a group of 40 friends gathered on Sparks Street to dance under the open sky and have a great time. What started as a casual event soon evolved into a mission to bring the traditions and energy of Latin America to Canada. Just four years later, it had grown into a massive celebration, with attendance exceeding 4,000 people. Since then, the festival has moved to Albert Island.
From that point on, certain traditions became permanent: live performances by invited musicians, authentic food, and free dance workshops for all visitors. It does not matter your age, gender, profession, or dance skills—only your mood and desire to have fun matter. The festival’s atmosphere ensures that no one is left indifferent.

Age Restrictions and Authentic Street Food
The Latin dance festival is perfect for both youth and families. Children under 12 can attend for free. Live shows and dance lessons are suitable for all age groups.
